Do you want to be part of a group of multipliers and decision-makers from policy, industry, business and media in Ireland to travel to Germany on a 3-day Study Tour from 19 - 21 June 2017 in the area of energy efficiency in buildings? As part of the tour, you will visit best practice projects including application presentations in Germany with a view to learning from these practices, sharing knowledge between Ireland and Germany and building relationships which will support future work in the area. Participants also have an opportunity to determine the content of the programme. This study tour is free of charge- participants cover only their own expenses. All travel within Germany is covered.

Why Energy Efficiency in Buildings?

In view of the historical building development in Ireland, there is currently a high demand for building expertise as well as building materials from abroad, which can potentially be met by German suppliers. During the crisis, Ireland lost a considerable amount of building materials and expertise. As a result of the economic upswing and its attractiveness as a business location, more and more multinationals are moving to Dublin and open their European or global headquarters in the Irish capital.

Objectives of this Energy Efficiency in Buildings Study Tour are to:

  • Examine in a practical way how Germany is using and benefiting from efficient energy concepts
  • Find solutions that could be implemented in Ireland
  • Build relationships with industry experts in Germany
  • Promote active co-operation between Ireland and Germany in the area of energy efficiency in buildings

Advantages for Participants

  • Programme tailored to your requirements
  • Observe and learn from international best practice in the field of efficient energy in buildings

Great Results from Previous Events

This study tour follows our business trip “Passive house technology for commercial and residential buildings” in April 2016 in Ireland, attended by delegates at which German companies presented innovative concepts and technologies. In addition, multiple meetings took place with the German companies in Irish workplaces in the following days and first results included planned test projects in Ireland with German technology.

Testimonials from Previous Study Tours

“The German Chamber of Commerce tour was an excellent initiative and I consider myself lucky to have been selected to participate. The programme was very well constructed, giving an excellent snapshot of the key research organizations as well as the region’s “hidden champions”. The organizers planned the tour very well, ensuring that the participants maximised their time in the region with a very full programme.” So Shaun Gavigan, representative of Insight Centre for Data Analytics and IOT Study Tour participant 2016.

“Very good trip, very well organised and a very interesting group of delegates who were all very well informed on all aspects of energy efficient lighting.” Vincent Murray, Limerick City Council, En Eff Lighting Study Tour, June 2012.
