Irish-Greek Forum “Ways out of the crisis – The Irish Example”

On the 4th June the Greek Minister for Development and Infrastructure Kostis Chatzidakis opened the seminar “Ways out of the crisis – The Irish Example” in Athens.

Jointly organised by the German-Greek Chamber and the German-Irish Chamber, a Chamber delegation from Ireland travelled to Athens to discuss possible ways to support the Greek economy. Council members Jack Golden (HR Director at CRH plc), Liam Ryan (Managing Director at SAP Services and Support Centre) and Werner Schwanberg (Managing Director at WGZ Bank Ireland plc) presented views on the Irish economy. During a panel discussion the Greek and Irish economies were compared and possible ways out of the crisis discussed. All delegates were satisfied with the positive discussions and the overall outcome of the seminar. Minister Chatzidakis expressed his gratitude to the delegation for their initiative and contribution.

This event shows again the extensive opportunities open to our members through the multinational network of German Chambers located in 120 countries around the world.

A special thanks goes to our honorary officers Jack Golden, Liam Ryan and Werner Schwanberg who took time out of their busy schedules to participate in this two day event to support the Chamber. Please see below their short presentations which laid the foundation for the fruitful discussion.
