A taste of Germany in Croke Park – German-Irish Chamber celebrates Oktoberfest 2015

More than 300 German companies employ 20,000 people in Ireland

Dublin, October 2nd, 2015: The German-Irish Chamber of Industry & Commerce is today hosting its annual corporate Oktoberfest. Celebrating the strong trading relationship between Germany and Ireland, this is 12th annual Oktoberfest celebration and the largest yet with over 500 guests of German, Irish and multinational corporations experiencing authentic German culture at the event.

In 2015, Germany was Ireland’s third largest trading partner. More than 300 German companies are operating in Ireland today, employing almost 20,000 people. Trade and investment operates in both ways with almost 60 Irish companies operating in Germany, providing employment for 14,000 and 480 Irish companies exporting high-quality products and services to Germany.

CEO of the German-Irish Chamber, Ralf Lissek said “2015 has seen the Irish economy surge forward with one of the highest levels of growth in the euro zone and the country’s transformation and strong economic reputation bodes well for continuing trade and investment. Our aim at the German-Irish Chamber of Industry & Commerce is to take advantage of this and to further increase business relationships between Germany and Ireland in both directions, driving investment.

“Ireland and Germany have enjoyed a strong relationship over the years, politically, culturally and economically. This Oktoberfest event is about celebrating this, together.”
