LUMENION
Company Profile

Lumenion's Grid Scale High Temperature Energy Storage technology addresses a critical issue of renewables i.e. the intermittency of generation. The peaks in generation from wind or solar power plants are utilised to heat steel elements up to appr. 650 C by means of conventional resistive heating elements. Appreciating electrical energy from the spot market at high or negative price levels or from providing balancing load are further attractive options. On the output side the heat can be utilised via conventional heat exchangers as process heat for industries at high efficiencies of > 85% and there is the option of feeding a steam turbine to generate electrical energy again.

Energy & Meteo Systems
Company Profile
